Monumental Antique Imperial Russian 84 Zolotnik Silver Ceremonial Kovsh. Circa of last quoter of 19th century beginning of 20th ctr.

Made in the traditional boat shape on conical stand, bearing amounts of decoration throughout. The body with allover engraved phoenix and scrollwork, beaded trim above Cyrillic lettering.

The inscription in Cyrillic alphabet: "Fun and Joy Girlfriends" (on one side), "The Beauty of the Feasting Friends" (on other side). Imperial handle in facet carved Nephrite or Jade, with applied double headed Imperial Russian Eagle crest and handle support in the figural form of a Dragon. The double-walled body chased and embossed to exterior with strap work of foliates and eagles, upper rim with Cyrillic inscription and beading. Interior of bowl has gold-washed finish.

Underside of base holds an engraved signatures from Russian Dukes, Parliamentarians, officers of Preobrazhenskiy, Izmailovskiy regiments and others famous peoples. Mark in Cyrillic alphabet of Mikhail Ovchinnikov, Russian Imperial warrant, not readable combined city and standard marks, 84 fineness, a some letters.

An additional is not readable stamps on base of the outside of edge. Condition: a few small dings inside of the kovsh, a some scratches an around, a some patina, on one of the outside side of the kovsh a dint, normal age wears.

16 1/2" long, 9 1/2 wide x 9" tall. 3104 grams 99.9 ozt. The kovsh was cleaned, the last picture an original kovsh. All items are accurately described to the best of our knowledge and the pictures serve as part of the description.
